Colorist Services

Here is the layout. We supply colorists who deliver the final grade for features, documentaries, series and commercials finishing in Belgium. Our team places colorists comfortable in DaVinci Resolve and Baselight, working in calibrated suites in Brussels and Flanders, and able to handle HDR and SDR deliverables, ACES pipelines and the streaming-platform specs that global clients need. They work closely with the director and cinematographer to protect the intended look from the shoot through to delivery, manage conform and finishing alongside the editor and online team, and produce the full set of masters and trims a modern distribution chain demands. Because Belgium attracts a large volume of post-only work through the Tax Shelter, our colorists are used to picking up a project graded partly elsewhere and matching it seamlessly.

Here is how the work shapes up. Belgium has built a big post-prod sector on the back of its Tax Shelter incentive. This has drawn the finishing and VFX work of many overseas shoots into Belgian sites. Colorists here are accustomed to the diffuse grey northern light and naturalistic palette of Belgian cinematography — the visual world of the Dardenne brothers' Wallonian films and of 'The Broken Circle Breakdown' — as well as the saturated, controlled looks of genre and animation work.

Here is how that works. The crew base is multilingual and trained through the country's film schools and the apprenticeship route of working post houses. Colorists routinely finish projects that screen at Film Fest Gent and compete for the Magritte and Ensor awards. We match each colorist to the genre and finishing standard of the project.
